Running the audit

We're loading the page in a real browser and checking it against the WCAG rule set. This usually takes 5–15 seconds.

Real-browser audit
We load your page in a real headless browser and run the axe-core rule set — the same engine trusted by accessibility teams.
Evidence, not guesses
Every issue links to the exact element, the failing rule, and the matching WCAG success criterion.
Honest by design
Automated testing catches ~30–40% of WCAG issues. We tell you that up front — no false compliance claims.
Built for the EAA
Aligned with the European Accessibility Act, EN 301 549 and WCAG 2.2 AA — the standards your customers are asking about.

What we check

The four principles of WCAG

Automated tests map to the POUR model — Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, Robust. Here is a sample of what each covers.

Perceivable

  • Text alternatives for images
  • Color-contrast ratios
  • Captions & media labels
  • Content order & structure

Operable

  • Keyboard accessibility
  • Visible focus states
  • Skip links & landmarks
  • No keyboard traps

Understandable

  • Form labels & instructions
  • Consistent navigation
  • Language of page
  • Clear error messages

Robust

  • Valid, parseable HTML
  • Correct ARIA usage
  • Name, role, value
  • Assistive-tech compatibility

Automated testing is a floor, not a ceiling

Automated checks reliably catch roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues. A11yProof gives you that fast, repeatable baseline plus the evidence trail — pair it with manual review and assistive-technology testing for full coverage.

Why A11yProof

Accessibility your team can prove

Most checkers dump a wall of warnings. A11yProof turns them into a prioritized, evidence-ready record.

Prioritized findings

Issues sorted critical-first, each tied to the exact element and rule — so you fix what matters most.

Standards-mapped

Every finding carries its WCAG 2.2 success criterion, ready for EN 301 549 and EAA conversations.

Compliance evidence

Build a dated, verifiable record of your accessibility posture for the European Accessibility Act.

Continuous monitoring

Re-scan on a schedule and get alerted when a change introduces a new barrier.

Standards & frameworks

Aligned with the standards regulators reference

Our checks map to the recognised accessibility standards and legislation — so your report speaks the language auditors and customers expect. Alignment is not certification: an automated scan is not an accredited audit.

Standard names are referenced to indicate methodological alignment only and do not imply certification, accreditation, endorsement, or affiliation.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does a passing scan mean my site is compliant?
No. Automated testing detects roughly 30–40% of WCAG issues. A clean scan is a good sign, but full conformance also requires manual review and assistive-technology testing. We never claim a site is 100% compliant.
Which standard do you test against?
WCAG 2.2 at Level AA — the benchmark referenced by the European Accessibility Act and EN 301 549. Findings carry the specific success criterion so you can trace each issue.
What engine powers the scan?
We load your page in a real headless browser and run axe-core, the open-source accessibility engine used widely across the industry. No page data is stored after the scan.
Can I scan a page behind a login?
Not yet — the scanner works on publicly reachable pages. Full-site crawling is available on paid plans today; authenticated scanning is on the roadmap.
Do you store the pages I scan?
The on-demand scanner analyses the page and returns results without retaining the page content. Monitoring plans store findings over time so you can track progress.
Is this a substitute for an accessibility audit?
It is a fast, repeatable baseline and evidence trail — not a replacement for a professional manual audit. Use it to catch and prevent the automatable issues, then bring in expert review for the rest.
