For developers

Ask, fix, re-scan.

The same findings as your A11yProof report, in the form a developer needs them.

  1. 01 Ask

    “What are the accessibility errors on my site?” The assistant reads your latest scan: each error with its impact, its WCAG success criterion, the affected elements (CSS selector and HTML) and axe-core's own hint on what to change.

  2. 02 Fix

    It finds the element in your code and changes it. For the common rules the answer also carries how to fix it, a code example and a link to the guide.

  3. 03 Re-scan

    It re-scans the site, or checks any single page of it without changing your grade, and tells you which errors are gone. A page usually takes under a minute.

What your assistant can do

You pick one of three access levels when you connect.

Read

  • Every site in your account with its grade, errors by severity and monitoring state
  • Findings page by page or rule by rule, with WCAG criteria, selectors, HTML and fixes
  • The score over time and what changed between two scans
  • Monitoring alerts: new, worsened and resolved errors
  • PDF audit reports and EAA statements, with their public verify links
  • What needs your attention across all your sites

Read and re-scan

  • Re-scan a site; the result becomes its grade, as with “Scan page” in the dashboard
  • Check any page of the site without changing the grade
  • Switch monitoring on or off and set how often it runs

Read, scan and manage

  • Add a site to your account
  • Start a site-wide crawl (Monitor and Compliance plans)
  • Make a PDF audit report or EAA statement, as your plan allows
  • Each of these only after you say yes in the chat

Try asking

You stay in control

  • When you connect you choose every site in your account or just one, and one of three access levels. Read is the default.
  • The assistant works as you and sees only your own account's sites.
  • Adding a site, a site-wide crawl and a PDF report use your plan: the assistant has to ask you first, every time.
  • Only public web addresses are scanned. Addresses on private or internal networks are refused, as in the dashboard.
  • Billing, deleting sites, ownership verification and test accounts stay in the dashboard. Revoke a connection at any time under AI assistants.
  • Automated testing finds about 30–40% of WCAG problems. A clean scan is not a compliance certificate, and the assistant is told so.

Set it up

Each assistant below signs in with your A11yProof account (OAuth): add the server address, sign in, then choose the sites and how much it may do. Menu names change between app versions; if a step looks different, look for “Connectors”, “MCP” or “custom server”.

  1. Run the command below in your project.
  2. Start Claude Code, type /mcp, choose a11yproof and Authenticate.
  3. Sign in to A11yProof in the browser and choose the sites and access.

  1. Open Cursor Settings → MCP and add a new server, or put the snippet below into ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
  2. Choose Connect next to a11yproof and sign in to A11yProof.

  1. Run “MCP: Add Server…” from the Command Palette, choose HTTP and paste the server address, or add the snippet below to .vscode/mcp.json.
  2. Start the server when VS Code asks, then sign in to A11yProof.
  3. Use it in Copilot Chat in agent mode.

  1. Open Plugins and choose + → Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it A11yProof and paste the server address.
  3. Choose OAuth as authentication, confirm the warning and create it.
  4. Install the plugin, sign in to A11yProof and choose the sites and access.
  5. In a new chat type @A11yProof and ask. ChatGPT asks you before a tool that changes something runs.

Available on paid ChatGPT plans; in Business and Enterprise an admin may need to allow custom servers.

Claude

claude.ai and the desktop app

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it A11yProof and paste the server address.
  3. Choose Connect, sign in to A11yProof and choose the sites and access.
  4. In a chat, open the tools menu and make sure A11yProof is on.

On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to add the connector for the organisation first.

Any other client

With a key instead of a sign-in

  1. In the dashboard open AI assistants and create an AI key: read; read and re-scan; or read, scan and manage. One site or every site.
  2. Send it as a header with the server address. For example in Claude Code:

A key acts as your account. Keep it secret (it is shown once) and revoke it on the same screen.
